Role or duties of a Multimedia Professional

How to become a Multimedia Professional?

Step 1:  Choose the right stream in Class 11 and 12: Opt for a stream that aligns with multimedia, such as Arts or Commerce with Computer Science or Information Technology (IT) as a subject. This will provide a foundation for further studies in multimedia.

Step 2:   Pursue a relevant degree or diploma program: After completing Class 12, you can enroll in a diploma or degree program in multimedia or a related field. Several institutions in India offer courses in multimedia, animation, graphic design, or visual communication. Some popular options include a Bachelor of Design (B.Des.), a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Multimedia, or a Diploma in Multimedia and Animation.

Step 3:  Gain practical skills: Alongside your formal education, focus on developing practical skills in multimedia.


Types of Job Roles
  • Graphic Designer: Creates visual concepts, graphics, and layouts for various media, such as websites, advertisements, brochures, and logos. They use graphic design software to develop visually appealing and effective designs.
  • Animator: Uses animation software to create moving images, characters, and visual effects for various mediums, including films, television, video games, and websites. Animators bring static elements to life through motion and storytelling.
  • Video Editor: Edits and assembles raw footage, adding effects, transitions, and audio to create cohesive and visually appealing videos. Video editors work on films, television shows, commercials, and online content.
  • Web Designer: Designs and develops visually engaging and user-friendly websites. They create layouts, select color schemes, choose typography, and integrate multimedia elements to enhance the website's overall look and functionality.
